"Start Up Chile"

The Bryant Chile/Argentina SIE group kicked off their day with a thrilling presentation about "Start Up Chile" from Diego. Start Up Chile is a Government policy that helps both local and foreign entrepreneurs create a successful start up.

The 5 year old policy has revolutionized business models so rapidly that they have been titled a "Disruption in the entrepreneurship ecosystem". Start Up Chile is receiving so much attention that there is a minimum of 5 press releases EVERY DAY about the strength of this ingenious policy. TED Talk Start Up Chile will be released in the near future. Start Up Chile represents an entrepreneurs from almost every country in the world. The Sudan and one other African country is all that is missing from a full map.

Every Bryant student was on the edge of their seat as we were told that ever entrepreneur receives 20 million.......pesos. Which converts to about 32,000 US dollars. Start Up Chile also provides a range of services including local aid to find housing, a 1 year work visa, and support groups to maximize efficiency in different fields.

This policy has attracted talented entrepreneurs from around the world to Chile. This has launched Chile into one of the top rankings of countries for entrepreneurship.

Start Up Chile is a non profit Government policy that does not ask for equity. "We are building a country not a profit" said Diego. Start Up Chile accepts 300 start ups each year, and has provided over 90 million US dollars to entrepreneurs. The Government funded agency implements the "lean start up" method which has a reasonable success rate.

Start Up Chile has accepted a wide variety of projects. They range from incubators that replicate a mothers heart beat and pressure to increase survival rates in prematurely born infants, to an advanced virtual reality that will personify yourself in a virtual world for eternity. The virtual version would resemble you physically, contain memories and stories, and allow your great grandchildren to meet you and ask you questions. There is also a range of apps that vary from real estate to buying a bus ticket.

So if YOU have a great idea all you have to do is go to www.startupchile.org/apply
Fill out an application, and buy a ticket to the beautiful city of Santiago, Chile. Where Start Up Chile will help you "live the experience".
