All 42 of us SIEers, woke up bright
and early this morning to check out of Hotel Melia Reconquista to begin our
journey to Chile. There were many mixed emotions about leaving this morning because we have all grown to love Buenos
Aires, and Argentina as a whole. After
having some breakfast everyone loaded their luggage onto the bus and we headed
to the international airport. Once we
checked in and got our tickets we headed to security where we had to say
goodbye to our amazing tour guides Rosana and German. They were both extremely welcoming and
knowledgeable about Argentina which really added to our experience. We then headed to our gate where we were able
to pick up some snacks and last minute souvenirs to bring home with us. After a quick hour and a half flight over the
beautiful Andes Mountains later we arrived in Chile and were greeted by our new
tour guides Catalina and Francisca. We
had a bit of a delay getting on the buses, due to a minor customs issue, but we
finally made it aboard, which was definitely
worth the wait. Everyone was
amazed by the leather seats, drink machine, and even the bathroom on board. On the way Hotel Atton el Bosque, our new tour
guides gave a quick introduction about Santiago and what we were to expect for
the upcoming days. Once we made it to
the hotel, we were given our room keys and made our way to our new beautiful
rooms to settle in and prepare for our upcoming bus tour of the city of Santiago. While we were all sad to
leave Argentina, it is needless to say that everyone is excited to start exploring Chile and have new adventures!
